When beginning with cloth, the varieties can be confusing. There are so many different sizes, styles/shapes, fabrics,  absorbencies AND prices!

I’m going to do my best to briefly explain the differences between all our pads.

In this photo we have examples of all our liners and light pads.
First is the thong liner- aprox. 6 inches. This was designed for those who wear thongs and would like some light protection. The thong liner shown here has an organic cotton velour top and an cotton fleece (smooth side out) backing and it is not waterproof. It is simply for those who would prefer a more breathable thong liner for daily discharge etc.. We also make these with our waterproof fleece backing, in the same wing design and a slightly larger wrap around wing design. Those ARE waterproof and can also be used for daily protection AND menstrual cup back up or for those who use tampons (we suggest you try a menstrual cup if you do!) and want a bit of extra protection in case of spotting etc..

The next pad is our tiny liner, also aprox. 6 inches. The one shown here has bamboo velour top, organic cotton fleece backing. Again, this particular one is a more breathable tiny liner for those who prefer it over our waterproof liners. Some people simply want a little protection with great absorbency but they don’t really need waterproof backing. We do however, also make these with our waterproof backings, either in the waterproof fleece or PUL (a laminated cotton fabric). Our waterproof back styles work for quite a bit of protection against any types of leaks whether from incontinence or spotting. Some even use these tiny liners for a light flow and that works as well, but you must be aware of the very small size. My middle daughter who is 12 likes this size and does use it for her flow, but her flow is very light.

The next pad shown is our pantywrap and this is aprox. 7 inches long. The pantywrap is simply two layers of fabric which wraps around your undies and gives you light protection against discharge etc.. This is not meant to be used as a pad for flow, but more as a panty protector. It has two snap settings so it can be snapped so narrow that some actually do use them for thong undies as well. These work fine with just about any type of undie but if your undie is REALLY wide in the crotch area, it may cause a little bit of bunching and that may cause the pad to shift backwards a bit. This can actually happen with any pad if there is bunching, the pad can tend to slide backwards so it’s good to keep this in mind. 🙂

The next pad is a light comfort contour pad which is aprox. 8 inches long. The one shown in the photo is once again a liner backed with organic cotton fleece (smooth side out) and is for those who prefer a breathable pad. We also make these in our waterproof fleece and pul backing. Again, these liners are good for light daily protection and light incontinence and can also be used for a light flow if you choose the style with waterproof backs. These are one of my favorite liners for at the end of my cycle as they will give me enough protection “just in case” my flow isn’t quite finished, but it’s a nice small size pad so it’s comfortable enough to wear even if I don’t really need it. They are also a great size for teens/preteens and those with a light flow and/or a small frame. We can make these with an extra layer of absorbency to create our “short” regular flow pad. We create our short regular flow pad with a slightly larger backing for extra protection.

The last pad in this photo is our Light Wrap Wing pad which is also aprox. 8 inches in length. This particular pad in the photo has a PUL backing. This is our cotton laminated backing. It’s a super trim backing layer which I personally LOVE. Our pads created with pul backing are probably just as thin as a disposable pad. The liners definitely are! These pads, like the light comfort contour and tiny liner are good for a light flow and light incontinence. They are also great for teens/preteens and smaller framed women.

I’ll write more again soon about our next sizes. I have to zip out to take the kids to a birthday party!
