{"id":1138,"date":"2011-03-09T17:14:56","date_gmt":"2011-03-09T17:14:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/homesteademporium.wordpress.com\/?p=1138"},"modified":"2011-03-09T17:14:56","modified_gmt":"2011-03-09T17:14:56","slug":"around-the-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/homesteademporium.com\/blog\/2011\/03\/09\/around-the-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Around the home."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On my birthday the other week, I decided to spend the day keeping my camera close at hand so I&#8217;d remember what my 40th birthday consisted of.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3503\/1195550177_xbvSK-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t an &#8216;out of the ordinary&#8217; day. Dear hubby was away at work still, but soon coming home, in just two days, after 6 weeks away.<\/p>\n<p>Both Alesia and Joshua had to work that day, so that meant lots of running around etc.. Really, a typical, normal, average day here on our little homestead.<\/p>\n<p>But every day really is special, and I wanted to capture that.<\/p>\n<p>When I looked on our deck that morning, this is what I found.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3499\/1195548498_6DbCe-S.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Footprints in the snow.<\/p>\n<p>Not just any footprints however, BARE foot prints. Typical around here. It makes me smile and I&#8217;m reminded of why I love my kids so.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3501\/1195548500_nc9EA-S.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Time to fill up the bird feeder.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3558\/1195575026_vTS66-S.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also time to throw some wood on the fire.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3510\/1195553117_EUKrq-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Oh look, by golly, we do own shoes&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>there they are by the fire, minus the bare feet that walked through the snow on our deck.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3553\/1195572686_5uyuZ-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We own lots of shoes.<\/p>\n<p>And mud. We also own lots and LOTS and<strong> LOTS<\/strong> of mud.<\/p>\n<p>Shaylah brought her little wagon into the house.<\/p>\n<p>To this day, I still don&#8217;t understand why it was sitting in my kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>Bare feet are walked in snow, and wagons are brought in from the cold.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3549\/1195571040_ciNGy-M-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And coats are worn, in the house, while lounging in chairs, reading.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3550\/1208970304_NqCqo-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"298\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And dogs lounge on couches beside not-so-little-anymore girls.<\/p>\n<p>Just another ordinary day around the home.<\/p>\n<p>Where the barn cat resides on my upper balcony,<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3575\/1195584035_QAZmT-S.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n<p>and 2 pound puppy dogs are dressed up in doll clothing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3581\/1195585660_sKfuZ-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Birthday cards created, and given.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3576\/1195584449_qW8Z3-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"298\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Toys played with all over the floor.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3627\/1208985205_6LMFQ-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"382\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mother&#8217;s birthday thought of, and flowers purchased while at work by my eldest daughter.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3624\/1208988580_3LUoF-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Photos taken to last forever.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3610\/1206439505_2rBNC-M-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"285\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And yet another specially ordinary day is over.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/Birthday-Day-photos-of\/DSC3585\/1197185509_xYsLb-S-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On my birthday the other week, I decided to spend the day keeping my camera close at hand so I&#8217;d remember what my 40th birthday consisted of.
