I think this is the very first winter in over 10 years that I can remember, that we&#8217;ve had TWO huge snow falls in ONE winter!<\/p>\n<p>Last snow fall, we talked about making maple syrup candy but didn&#8217;t have the syrup. By the time we were able to get syrup, the snow was gone. We study the Prairie Primer for school, and the recipe is in the book, so we were sad to have missed the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>This time we were prepared!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/2nd-Snow-Jan-911\/DSC2712\/1151879828_bEtu8-S.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All you need is maple syrup (the real stuff, not that colored corn syrup!!) and butter (again, use the REAL stuff!!).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/2nd-Snow-Jan-911\/DSC2713\/1151879953_892VH-S.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"265\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Boil until you hit about 220 degrees, we didn&#8217;t seem to really get right up to 220, more like about 218, not sure why but it worked anyways.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/2nd-Snow-Jan-911\/DSC2714\/1151880087_RU67q-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pour it over a pan of snow.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/2nd-Snow-Jan-911\/DSC2716\/1151880776_y7EbC-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And dive in!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/2nd-Snow-Jan-911\/DSC2718\/1151881309_EiJ7z-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was YUMMY! and very easy!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/homesteademporium.smugmug.com\/Homelife\/2nd-Snow-Jan-911\/DSC2719\/1151881363_Tb3Af-S.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t have any snow where you live, you can do it on vanilla ice cream as well.<\/p>\n<p>I found this article online for anyone else who would like to try it:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wondertime.go.com\/life-at-home\/article\/snow-candy-recipe.html\">http:\/\/wondertime.go.com\/life-at-home\/article\/snow-candy-recipe.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Enjoy!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We got dumped on with snow last night!
