I’m going to share with you aprox. 30 minutes of my life.
Now before I do, please keep in mind that my life doesn’t consist only of 30 minute blocks of time such as these BUT when I have a moment, to stop and follow my children around, and wander the property, every so often I am treated to a 30 minute capture of time as wonderful as this.
First off, I was in the midst of putting up shop listings for some collaborations and other things stocking this week. I also had some bamboo velour in the washer that I had just dyed to make some baby blankets that will be given as gifts. I suddenly realized the visiting Mr. Heehaw, as I call him, would be leaving tomorrow and I had better grab the camera and get out there to snap some photos RIGHT NOW before it’s too late!
So I grabbed the camera and headed out the door for a bit of a break. This was the first thing I got to watch, Julia riding her pony Nikki.

Then I went over to see mr. heehaw himself. His real name is actually Cookie. He’s pretty cute, except when he’s braying LOUDLY through the night and early morning! Having him visit has been fun, but we’ve realized we probably won’t be getting a donkey in the future. He is SO LOUD! If we had a big property, that’d probably be different, but with our paddocks so near the house, no way. lol

He is kind of charming though…

In a sort of…

in your face kind of way.
But you’ve just got to love those ears!

How could you not?!
My husband says he looks just like Donkey, from Shrek? I think I’ll have to agree. lol
And of course the kids love him too. 🙂

After visiting with the donkey, Shaylah and I went over to check out the nest of baby chickadee’s they found in our rock cut.

They are SO tiny, and FUZZY! lol Black tufts of fuzz everywhere.

In the meantime, one of our large muscovy ducks and the four ducklings, who are not so little anymore, were spending some time in our little pond so we went back to get them out. The sun was setting and I just had to take a few moments to play around with the camera and the sun’s dimming rays.

Even the flying bugs can be pretty in the dimming rays.

And my favorites from this evening.

Priceless

Absolutely priceless

I am blessed.
