This morning at church I noticed a small magazine with Bear Grylls on the cover. I was kind of surprised, I wasn’t aware that he shared our faith. My girls were surprised as well and immediately picked up one of the magazines to read afterwards. We enjoy his show. He’s a little too intense for us at times, but I admire greatly anyone who follows their dreams and makes them a reality. I also admire that he truly keeps things REAL. Reality is not always pretty.
I love to hear/read about other people’s faith. Bear Grylls shared his so well, that I wanted to share it! I hope this isn’t some sort of copyright infringement. I thought it was too good not to share! You can see the cover here: http://salvationist.ca/docs/keepconnected/Editorial1201.pdf
A short quote from the article in the magazine by Bear Grylls about his faith:
“My faith has never been complicated. It’s intimate and personal, the backbone that runs straight through who I am, and it means the world to me. It was a rock to me during those hard times and it’s a rock to me in normal life.
“I don’t know nearly enough Bible verses, but the few I know, I really depend on. ‘I lift my eyes up to the moutains-where does my help com from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and earth’ (Psalm 121:1-2).
“It’s not religious or ‘heavy.’ For me, faith is like finding home. It’s a great thing in our family; my kids always pray for me before I go away. My seven-year-old will say, ‘Bless Papa.’ That’s it, but wow! That’ melts me.”
I like his faith. It’s a lot like mine. Intimate and personal, not complicated, and certainly the backbone, and the rock, of all that I am and all that I do.

Love this! And did you take this picture? It reminds me of a spot in the Rockies my dad teed to take us too!
