Celebrating NINETEEN years of parenting!

Today my eldest daughter is 19. She’s ‘officially’ an adult. Just don’t tell her that because she’ll get upset with you. :p She’s pretending she’s turning 16. lol She doesn’t want to grow up, yet in reality she’s probably the most mature 19 year old girl I know. Isn’t that funny?

Alesia is very mature, loyal, insightful, intelligent & wise. She sets goals for herself and almost always sticks with them. She has plans, great plans, to be the very best person that she can be in life. She has strong convictions and stands by them yet also has enough empathy to see another’s point of view, even if it differs from her own.

I’ve been very blessed to become her mother 19 years ago. She was born on her due date. Only 4% of all babies are born on their due dates and she was one of them. I told her today that she’s always been right on time on the important things in life, so she shouldn’t be too impatient to start the next steps.

I’d like a few photos of Alesia growing up. Unfortunately her baby photos are still all packed away but I found a few on my computer I thought I’d share!

This is the only baby photo I have on the computer, her with her Opa as a baby.

I believe this was her 3rd birthday? I hate that I can’t remember for sure. lol Once I have her albums unpacked I’ll be able to check!

It’s a scanned photo since Alesia was born LONG before we ever had our first computer. lol

This next photo was taken at a piano recital when she was about 11.

Riding my horse Raiah a few years ago. We may have never had the opportunity to send her to fancy riding lessons or shows, but she’s always made the most of having horses anyways! That’s NEVER stopped her!

This was her hair 3 years ago before she had me chop it off to donate it.

And here she is, a photo from this past summer. All grown up and ready to take on whatever life has in store for her.

Thank you for letting me learn from you for these past 19 years Alesia. A parent certainly learns more from their first child, about not just parenting, but about them-self, then that child ever learns from them! 🙂

I’m sure the next 19 years will be equally amazing!
