This weekend I have a MeLuna menstrual cup to give away!
To learn more about MeLuna cup, you can visit their site here: http://meluna.eu/menstruationsbecher.html

I’ve given away a couple of these on our facebook page already, but the one shown above was actually given to me by MeLuna as a give away for our blog.

They were very generous though, and sent me a BUNCH of cups to try out myself first!
One person can only try out so many cups, so I decided to share the generosity on the facebook page a couple of weeks ago.

The green cup in the give away package is a size medium. This is the typical size a woman, who has given birth, would use.
I want to share with you, my opinion on the MeLuna cup.
First off, one of the two biggest things I liked was that their medium cup, was actually smaller in dimension (around, and length of the actual cup) then the other three menstrual cups I have tried in the past. I’ll be honest and say I’ve never totally been able to find that menstrual cup “love” so many speak of, but the MeLuna has brought me the closest to that love out of the four different brand names I’ve tried.
But, I also want to say that the only reason I’m not going to share the names of the other ones I’ve tried that did not work as well for me is because I don’t feel that the cups themselves had any faults, or negatives. I really believe it’s just like menstrual cloth, one brand will simply fit, or suit, one woman’s needs differently then another brand. For me, I never loved tampons either. I’m not sure why, they just never seemed to fit right or feel completely comfortable. Tampons always caused me to have much worse cramps then pads. I will say, the cups don’t cause cramps for me, but they also don’t feel (for me) like there’s nothing there. Yet I’ve heard many woman have FANTASTIC experiences with menstrual cups and feel like they are using NOTHING. So for that reason, I want to spread the word about menstrual cups.
Not to mention, it’ so much easier when you go swimming etc., and so much healthier then a tampon!

Just for fun, and since I was sent so many cups in all the sizes, I decided to try out each size myself. (*note, all these shown have never been used, these are all brand new).
The cups shown above are:
Black- size small
Purple- size large
Blue- size large
And then then the green shown in the package is the medium. I really should have taken some comparison photos of them all side by side, but I had already sent away the two mediums to facebook fans, and kept one for myself to try. MeLuna actually has a great comparison photo here though: http://meluna.eu/media/catalog/product/cache/2/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/k/u/kugel_1.jpg
When trying out all three sizes, I actually found that all three fit quite comfortably! Even the large ones! If someone has a love for a menstrual cup, and has a VERY heavy flow, I highly suggest getting yourself one of these large cups. I don’t actually know if the other companies sell so many sizes, as I normally have only heard of two sizes, pre-birth and post-birth sizes. I think this large size is a fantastic idea because I know SO many of my customers suffer with REALLY heavy flows, and this would be the perfect cup!
When I tried out the small size, I actually really liked it. Personally, I think it’s even a good size for women on their light flow days if they are not worried the cup is going to be ‘too’ small.
Here are the specs on all three sizes, from the MeLuna site.
MeLuna is available in three sizes: S, M and L.
Size S:
Cup diameter: 40 mm, length 40 mm (add 6 mm for ball style, 8 mm for the ring style or 15 mm for the stem)
Cup volume: 10 ml up to the holes, 15 ml up to the top
Size M:
Cup diameter: 45 mm, length 45 mm (add 7 mm for ball style, 10 mm for the ring style or 17 mm for the stem)
Cup volume: 15 ml up to the holes, 21 ml up to the top
Size L:
Cup diameter 45 mm, length 54 mm (add 8 mm for ball style, 14 mm for the ring or 16mm for the stem)
Cup volume: 24 ml up to the holes, 32 ml up to the top
Another difference between this cup, and other cups I’ve tried, is the size of the pin sized air holes along the top of the cup. The MeLuna cup has just slightly larger holes. This is good, in my opinion, for two reasons. First, it allows you to break the suction when removing the cup much easier. And second, you can get the holes cleaned out very easily. If you’ve used menstrual cups in the past, you know what I mean. If you don’t know, you’ll just have to trust that these are good things. 😉
I also love the HUGE array of colors MeLuna offers! If you know me, you know I love color! Just look at the variety!
MeLuna cup has a variety of ‘stems’. I like this option.
MeLuna has also just come out with their new “soft cup” and I was privileged to be the very first woman in Canada to try out this new cup!
I have to say, I do really like it. The cup is VERY soft and was definitely very close to a ‘barely there’ kind of feeling. I do recommend it. I also found their Classic nice as well though, so don’t be scared to try that one! It’s a little firmer, but I found it was still softer then some of the other cups I’ve tried.
MeLuna has a very extensive FAQ on their website, which you can find here: http://meluna.eu/meluna-faq.html#right-size
They also have lots of handy tips on that FAQ page on folding techniques, the material used to create the cup, how long a MeLuna cup will last (5-10 years, that’s a lot of savings!), and MUCH MUCH more!
They also take paypal, which for me, is a must when shopping online!
So there you have it, my opinion on the MeLuna cup! I hope you’ve found it helpful, and I hope you’ll enter for YOUR chance to win this exact MeLuna cup package:

MY SISTER LOVES TAMPONS AND REFUSES TO “bleed on herself”. SHE NEEDS THESE CUPS for the landfills’ sake!
I would like to try these menstrual cups. Love the colors too, LOL.
I would really love to try one!! Thanks for the opportunity!
I would love to try this cup. I have the size 2 Diva cup, and I love it when it’s in, but I struggle a bit with insertion and removal, especially breaking suction. I thought it might be easier now that I’ve started using it again after giving birth, but I think it’s the same. I never thought of trying a different brand, but it sounds like MeLuna might be a better fit for me!
These sound fantastic, I am new to the whole mama cloth/menstrual cup thing and would love to try one. Thanks for the chance 🙂
I love my current cup but am always up for trying a different brand too. These looks so fun.
I would love to try this. I have a different cup, but want to try this one and see how it compares.
I would love to win one! I am new to the whole mamma cloth world, and I have been waffling on a full conversion. I just don’t know what product to buy, I have bought a few cloth pads to try… Ut I want to covert fully…. Covert me! Hahaha
Just starting to dabble in mama cloth here, and I’d love to try a menstrual cup! Thanks for the shot at it 🙂
I would love to win this cup! I have a ‘no name’ menstrual cup (from ebay) and I love it but I do sometimes struggle with geting it in, and would love to see if another cup is easier.
I would love to be entered for this! I’m a huge fan of menstrual cups, and this one looks perfect for when my pp AF returns.
I shared on facebook for another chance to win 🙂
I’ve not tried menstrual cups yet, but would like to. These sound interesting.
I’d love to win one… I didn’t have much luck with the previous one I tried, so maybe this would make me fall in love!
thanks so much for this giveaway! i would love to win 🙂
Enter me please
I love my HE mama cloth, but I’d also love to try a menstrual cup! I love their assortment of colors, it’s so pretty!
Thanks for the giveaway:D
I would love to try this cup too. I have a different brand which I cut the end off of as it was too long for me. Sadly, it’s now not the softest thing anymore!
I would love to try this. I do have another cup but would love to have another brand to try out. 🙂
I’ve been wanting to try one of these!
I would really like to try this cup! I like the fact that it comes in more sizes…
I would LOVE to try one of these!
I love menstrual cups and am always on the lookout for the perfect fit.
I’d love to try this out! Thanks for the opportunity 🙂
I’ve tried another cup and loved it but it was somehow misplaced a couple of months ago. I’d love to try this one!
I am in need of a change! Thank you for the opportunity!
I love the colors! Can not wait to try!
I would love to try a new cup. I had a Diva cup once that I wasn’t fond of. This looks easier to use.
I’d love to pair this with my gift cert and make that final jump into H.E.R. pads & reusable products!
I have used a diva cup for years (when not pregnant) and have been very happy. I am going to need a new one once I am able to use it again (pregnant currently) and would love to try this out!
I would love to try this out! I bleed really heavy ever since giving birth to my twins!
I’d love to try a cup! I like how they have different stem choices, I’ve only seen a Divacup in person before and it just doesn’t look like the stem offers any help when you’d try to take it out.
Just had to comment on what an awesome giveaway this is. 🙂
The MeLuna is hands-down the cup that has worked best for me. It works with my retroverted cervix (not all have), the holes are higher up on near the rim (meaning they offer a higher capacity in a smaller cup), and the different stem options are amazing! With others, there was no question: I’d have to trim the stem off completely. But with MeLuna I had the option of a small, simple ball — which is surprisingly comfortable, by the way! — or even no stem at all (which is great, since there’s no worry of trimming too much and damaging the cup, or not getting the trimmed-off portion quite smooth enough LOL). I can even use my no-stem large and feel like there’s nothing there … crazy!
PS. You needn’t enter me — obviously I don’t need to try one LOL — but if I can’t be “unentered” I’m sure I can gift it to someone who does!
I would love to try one! Been using mama pads for a while now and this would be great for my longer days, days full of errands, and swimming.
id love to be entered!
What a great contest. I’ve always been curious to try a cup and would love to win one!
I’ve been using a cup for a couple years now. Lately my current cup has been a little uncomfortable. I would love to try a different option. I mostly rely on HER pads now 🙂
I love your cloth pads but this cup would be good for some occasions!
I have a mooncup in the before birth size, really need to size up!
I have a Diva and really like it but would love to try these!
Great giveaway 🙂
I love all of the color options they have. That green is beautiful.
I just shared it on facebook. 🙂
i actualy forgot i have a diva but stopped using it because of leakage, i would love to try out a softer cup!
I am new to cups and would love one to try!
I would love to try this – I’ve never used a cup before! I think it would be really nice for swimming with.

I would love to try this cup. I love that it comes in many sizes and colors!
I have never heard of these before. How do they work? I can’t believe it never occurred to me to use something better for the environment! Fail!
Would love to try it. I want to feel the menstrual cup love, but haven’t so far.
