That’s the slogan of the lottery corporation, but I’ve decided I’m going to assign this same slogan to my son.
And his truck, which he affectionately calls “The Beast”.
“Know your limit… play within it!”
What started out as a adventure…

ended as one of the saddest days of my son’s young life of 18 years.

On Sunday we went to church in the morning, and since everyone was off work, we planned to do something fun in the afternoon. Our original plan was to go hiking at Little Qualicum Falls, however, we woke up to snow and lots of wind. Not a great day for hiking!
Instead, we decided to go 4×4’ing in Joshua’s truck.
Joshua goes 4×4’ing with a friend fairly regularly. Sometimes with his friends truck, sometimes with his. However, I had never been and he had mentioned several times that we should go, so I said “let’s go!”
We decided to hit the same area’s my husband and I usually go with the quad/atv. I LOVE it up on the trails, and there’s always so much I wish we could show the younger kids, but you can only go as 1 or 2 persons with the quad. With Joshua’s truck, anyone who wanted to go, could go! So it was Joshua, myself, and then Elsa and Julia joined us too.
It was a good thing in the end that Alesia and Shaylah decided to stay home…
It all began with lots of exploring. I showed Joshua a favorite spot dh and I go to, we parked alongside the gravel road, and since the weather had cleared up by this time, we hiked down to the river.

It was beautiful, the river was rushing, and all though this spot is even more beautiful in the summer time, the river never flows as fast, so it’s not quite as intense during the hotter months.

I snapped lots of photos, of the scenery, and of the three kids.

When you’re out here, it’s like a whole other world.

I will greatly miss these mountainous trails after we move to the prairies!

As we were leaving the river, we noticed another trail and decided to take a detour!

It led us to an even larger part of the river, where two forks met.

We agreed that we need to go back in the warmer months to play and splash if we’re still in the area!

It was gorgeous!
This is taking MUCH too long, and I have things to do, so I shall continue the story later!
Part 2 to come!
I’m hanging here! LOL
