Our hens are leaving us in just under an hour. The girls are out there saying their goodbyes. This time of goodbyes included more begging mama (me) if they could they please keep just SOME hens?!

Ughhh… I hate the guilt. We have nothing set up on the other end for chickens and it’s proving difficult enough to get things set up for the horses!

Now Julia just asked if she could tell the new owners all the hens names. Somehow I don’t think the new owners will be able to remember all their names, or what name belongs to who. 😉

I am glad we’re keeping two ducks. I hate it when I have no one to give our food scraps to besides the dogs. Very big pet peeve of mine, having food go to waste. I’d have chickens, rabbits, and dogs forever just to always have someone to feed every type of food scrap to!

It’s always lots of fun to see how much they appreciate those little bits of food scraps!

I’m not sure how long it will be before we have chickens again, but only as long as it has to be. We enjoy them too much to wait too long.
